The Magdalena apartment offers one of the best locations anywhere in Prague. It's just below the castle in our favorite area of Prague, Mala Strana.
The apartment is actually part of Residence Thunovska, a collection of independent apartments. The residence includes a few extra services with a staff to answer your questions too. You will have full independance, but a chance to get help as you need it.
Just outside the Magdalena apartment you will find the steps to the castle, literally just across from the main door.
The street is charming and has little traffic other than pedestrians during the day. In the morning and evening, it's very calm, even magical. Seriously, this is old Prague - the building dates from the 16th century and it has kept much of its charm after various renovations.
The Magdalena apartment has a large main bedroom and another separate room that can be arranged with two single beds or one double.
The apartment itself is modern with all the features of home, including a few arches and even a piano. In summer the apartment stays cool with high ceilings and thick stone walls. While in the winter there is central heating with a thermostat to control the temperature.
The kitchen sits between the two rooms and has most amenities that you will need including a stove, oven and dishwasher.
There is one bathroom in the Magdalena, but it has two separate entrances, so you won't have to cross another person's room to get there.

Feel free to dine-in or even try the Antique Cafe downstairs. They serve breakfast and have great seating outside in the summer. The cafe is only open until 6 pm so there is limited noise from the street.
During the tourist season, April to October, you may get a chance to hear the castle guards playing tunes at 10 am sharp from the turret above the stairs to the castle. It's a lovely surprise, so don't miss it if you get the chance.
